Our history
It all began with a story of friendship
This project was born in 2002, created by two friends who shared a passion for quality cuisine.
It’s no surprise, then, that they founded a restaurant where every ingredient is carefully selected to reach you with maximum freshness.
"A Lota" got its name from its location near the old fish market in Alvor, where fish was sold daily upon arrival from the sea. To this day, locals continue the tradition of gathering there at the end of a workday.
